The Kansas City Chiefs will try to win their second game in a row this Sunday when they host the Dallas Cowboys in the team’s season opener at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Chiefs are riding high after a dominating performance last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. While KC played well, the Jacksonville Jaguars aren’t exactly Super Bowl contenders. The Chiefs defense will face a much, much stiffer test in the Cowboys and QB Tony Romo.
Here is a look at the Week 2 injury report:
Questionable: CB Dunta Robinson, TE Travis Kelce
Robinson is not actually injured. As far as I can tell, he has missed the entire week of practice due to a personal issue. We got the following from Chiefs head coach Andy Reid on Friday:
"Q: What about Dunta Robinson; what’s his status?REID: “He did not practice today. He is not here. He’s been excused for personal reasons and we’ll justsee how it goes. It’s a day-to-day thing.”Q: Do you expect him back at all?REID: “We’ll see.”"
The Chiefs will need all of their DBs if they hope to shutdown Miles Austin, Dez Bryant and Jason Witten. The good news is that Robinson only played 26 snaps vs. the Jaguars so he may not be a huge part of the team’s defensive plans. Still, I think we’d all feel a lot better if the veteran CB was ready to play.
As for Kelce, Reid had this to say:
"“Really, (Travis) Kelce is the only one listed as questionable. He did practice; he had limited practice today. He moved around ok; he looked like he was doing ok. We look forward to the challenge of playing the Cowboys and we know they’re a good football team. We welcome them into Arrowhead Stadium. I know our fans will be pumped up and ready to go.”"
Kelce got banged up in the preseason.
Here are the guys listed as probable:
S Husain Abdullah, LB Dezman Moses, LB Nico Johnson, OT Donald Stephenson, G Jon Asamoah, RB Jamaal Charles
