Ron Parker – Cornerback
6-0, 206 lbs, 26 years old
Undrafted in 2011

Parker was signed by Seattle as an undrafted rookie out of little Newberry College. He has seen action for three different teams in his two NFL seasons (Seattle, Oakland, Carolina). Despite being picked up by other teams, Seattle has repeatedly brought him back when he was available. Similar to Marcus Cooper, Parker is a great all around athlete. He has size, speed (4.35 forty at his pro day), and strength (17 reps of 225 at his pro day). So parker appears to be another project CB with great tools and again seems like he would be a good fit for special teams duty.

Overall Thoughts:
I’m still stinging a little over the loss of Jerrell Powe, whom I was a big fan of. However, this looks like a solid group of players to fill out the bottom of the roster. When I saw all the cuts come down the past couple of days I was worried about our special teams (that had looked SO good) taking a hit from all the turnover. However, after looking into the players that were signed it appears that we may end up improving the special teams in the long run. The Hall and Moses signings seem safe to me because of Reid and Dorsey’s first hand knowledge of those players. Finally, the fact that 6 of the 7 players were signed off Super Bowl caliber teams (Green Bay, Seattle, and San Francisco) is a good sign to me. It makes sense to me that the best teams would have the deepest rosters and therefore their cast offs probably have the most upside. Time will tell, but there is some promise in this group. One thing is for sure. Reid and Dorsey were not impressed with the roster left behind by Scott Pioli.

What do you think Addicts? Are you excited about any of these guys? Did the team get any better? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

As always, thanks for reading and GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!
