Roster moves are still shaking up Chiefs Kingdom. While most of the big stuff is already done, there are still a couple of surprises. Nose tackle Jerrel Powe (not to be confused with 2012 first round draft pick Dontari Poe) was just waived by the Chiefs. This from Adam Caplan’s Twitter:

This one surprises me a little as he initially received praise from defensive coordinator Bob Sutton and head coach Andy Reid. They even went so far as to refer to him and Dontari Poe as the “Po(w)e Brothers.”

The big cut that came late this afternoon, was early fan favorite safety Bradley McDougald.

This is just more of Dorsey moving around the bottom of the roster.

The Chiefs also added a couple of new names during this afternoon’s activities.

I’m sure this guy was on Dorsey’s radar before the final preseason game against the Green Bay Packers. The Chiefs also claimed a couple of former Seattle Seahawks and a former Cleveland Browns as well.

Finally, we learned that injured Chiefs tight end, Tony Moeaki, will remain a Kansas City Chief, of sorts for the time being. Because he is injured, and then waived, and not claimed on waivers, he goes on the injured reserve list.

This is ironic because it’s what I thought the Chiefs should have done with him in the first place, but what do I know?
