Chiefs Cut Tysyn Hartman, Marcus Dixon
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports
The Kansas City Chiefs have already cut TE Tony Moeaki and now we’ve learned that Tysyn Hartman and Marcus Dixon have also been cut.
From Adam Teicher, of ESPN.com
Dixon tweeted about his release:
Hartman’s release is a little surprising. He was an excellent special teams player for the Chiefs in 2012 and in my opinion, flashed solid talent on the field this preseason.
But the Chiefs are deeper at DB than they have been in a while. With Brandon Flowers, Sean Smith, Husain Abdullah, Dunta Robinson, Kendrick Lewis and Eric Berry already on the roster, there wasn’t a ton of room for Hartman.
As the Chiefs continue to add talent and depth, they are going to have to make some tough decisions some cutdown time. I imagine Hartman will catch on with another NFL team fairly quickly. There will surely be some teams looking for special teams depth and the fact that Hartman can play safety will only increase his value.
We wish Tysyn and Marcus the best.
