Jamaal Charles Update: Chiefs’ RB Tweets Indicate He May Play vs. Steelers
Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports
Jamaal Charles took to Twitter this afternoon and answered the question that many of us in Chiefs Kingdom had on our minds.
Will the Chiefs’ star running back play tonight against the Pittsburgh Steelers?
At least according to Charles’ Twitter, it appears as if he will:
It is worth noting that most players have a hunger for the field, even star players in the preseason. There’s not much better in life than running out in front of thousands of fans and playing the game you love. Preseason or not, that’s still a hyped up moment.
The thing is, while a player may be hyped up to get out there, coaches, often times, don’t mind playing it safe. While a player may be saying yes, the coach or trainer could be thinking no, so just because Charles tweeted he’s getting ready to play, that doesn’t necessarily guarantee he’ll be out there.
Remember, just about a week ago Charles admitted that he was still feeling a bit sore.
With that said, I personally do expect to see Charles playing tonight against the Chiefs. I just don’t think Andy Reid and his staff will play him much.
He can get the reps he needs in practice. There’s no use keeping him out there for an extended period of time tonight.
