The Kansas City Chiefs will reportedly sign UFA Darryl Stonum, a wide receiver from Baylor University.

The Chiefs continue to add undrafted free agent talent as they sign Stonum from the Baylor Bears. The news came from his own Twitter feed, as have most of the UFA signings tonight.

Stonum has had some issues. Actually, he’s had a lot of issues. He began his career at Michigan but was suspended from the team indefinitely for legal issues. Apparently, Stonum violated his probation on an alcohol related offense and served jail time. After the 2011 season, Stonum announced he was a wide receiver for the Baylor Bears. He was able to transfer to Baylor under the graduate program exemption, enrolling in a graduate degree program that wasn’t offered at Michigan. However, Stonum only played in two games for the Bears last year and wasn’t all that productive.

I don’t like this at all, and with any luck this player will be cut before the first preseason game. The Chiefs locker room needs to gel and with a trouble maker and law breaker in their midst, it may be hard to do that. That may sound harsh, but it is what it is.

What do you think, Addicts? Do you like the Stonum signing?
