The Kansas City Chiefs have reportedly signed UFA Collin Kelly, an offensive lineman from the Oregon State Beavers.

Stephen Nelson, from KEZI in Oregon has broken the news that the former Beaver, Kelly, has signed with the Chiefs via Twitter.

A quick search of the internet on Collin Kelly uncovered this bit of information from his Oregon State Player Profile page:

"Colin is an athletic big man with the quickness to pull as well as get to speed rushers on the edge … will be expected to continue to man one of the tackle positions this season … limited during spring practice with an ankle injury – will be ready for fall camp."

I never get enthused about a player when I see there was a limiting injury. It makes me even less enthused when the player is a lineman and the injury was an ankle. However, being that the injury was last year, and it doesn’t appear that it bothered him, it should be okay.

Overall, I like the depth being added on the Chiefs’ offensive line. With what the Chiefs spent to bring in starting quarterback, Alex Smith, I can appreciate them searching high and low for the right guys to protect him this season.

What do you think, Addicts? Is Kelly a good addition to the Chiefs off-season roster?
