For weeks it seemed like every draft analyst out there was predicting the Kansas City Chiefs to select LT Luke Joeckel with the No. 1 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft but as evening approaches, more and more reports are indicating that it is Central Michigan’s Eric Fisher, rather than Joeckel, that has KC’s eye.
The latest report comes from Jay Glazer of Fox Sports:
Chiefs are still fielding calls about top pick but if they don't trade it, again, I believe Fisher will be the guy

Glazer isn’t the only reporter that thinks the Chiefs will grab Fisher. Both Albert Breer and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network agree.
Me too. And that makes Jax call a tough 1. RT @jayglazer: Most believe Chiefs take Luke Joeckel. I don't. I believe KC will take Eric Fisher

Me too RT @JayGlazer: Most believe Chiefs take Luke Joeckel, I do not, believe Chiefs will take Eric Fisher w #1 pick. Big, nasty, fits city

Fisher has been gaining momentum for a while now. NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock has Fisher as the best LT on his board. The thinking here is that Fisher has a higher ceiling in the NFL than Joeckel. Mayock thinks Fisher is a potential All-Pro.
Drafting No. 1 is no easy task. While Joeckel might be the safer pick, the Chiefs would do well to swing for the fences here. Over 200 players will be picked this weekend and the Chiefs can have any of those players that they want.
They’d better get the right one.
