Earlier we told you that the Kansas City Chiefs were down in Florida working out standout DT Sharrif Floyd and now we can also confirm that KC is taking a look at safety Matt Elam.

Elam is an interesting prospect. He is projected as a late first, early second-round draft pick, though I am sure he is trying to work his way into the mid-first round. Elam could probably play both safety positions, which would make him an interesting addition to the Chiefs. I’ve long wondered if Eric Berry might be a better fit at FS and wouldn’t be surprised to see a guy like Elam take over at SS.

At this point, the Chiefs need some extra insurance and competition for Kendrick Lewis. Lewis, who was drafted in the fifth-round by former Chiefs GM Scott Pioli, has some injury concerns.

To get Elam, KC would probably need to find a way into the late first round or early second-round. To do that, they’d likely need to trade Branden Albert.

What do you think, Addicts? Would you trade Branden Albert for say, Luke Joeckel and Matt Elam?
