Chiefs, Luke Joeckel To Meet On March 22
The Kansas City Chiefs could be meeting with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft later this month.
According to ESPN’s Sam Khan, the Chiefs will meet with Texas A&M LT Luke Joeckel on March 22nd.
The Chiefs will likely meet with a number of players and attend a number of Pro Days as the draft approaches.
The Chiefs are in need of some tackle help now that they have released Eric Winston. Still, Winston’s release doesn’t mean that Joeckel will be the pick.
The draft is thought to be fairly deep at the tackle position and since the Chiefs have locked down Branden Albert to cover the left side, they may be looking to nab a right tackle later in the draft or even in free agency.
KC will do their due diligence on a number of players. Don’t be surprised when reports emerge that the Chiefs are working out QBs as well.
I still think cutting Winston was a mistake and I think drafting Joeckel No. 1 to replace a RT will be an even bigger mistake.
At this point, not knowing what KC’s future plans are, I’d rather the team take CB Dee Milliner and fill their tackle needs in free agency.
What do you think Addicts? Is Joeckel going to be the pick?
