We told you the other day that the Kansas City Chiefs were bringing former New York Giants defensive lineman Chris Canty in for a visit this week and according to a new report from USA Today, Canty says the Chiefs went all out in an effort to sign him.

From USA Today:

"Meanwhile, the Chiefs are working on their defensive line. They brought in former New York Giants tackle/end Chris Canty, who told USA TODAY Sports via text the team “rolled out the red carpet” for him. Canty did not sign a deal and is headed home to mull over his visits with the Chiefs and Tennessee Titans. No other visits are scheduled yet."

The red carpet? Why didn’t they just take him to Oklahoma Joe’s and buy him a Z-Man?

In all seriousness, it should be interesting to see what happens here. The Chiefs surely would have liked to sign Canty before he left town. The fact that he did doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t sign but the Titans surely have to be encouraged that he didn’t join the Chiefs while in KC.

Going all out for Canty is just another indication that Tyson Jackson and Glenn Dorsey could be finished in KC.

Canty has the market to himself right now so he doesn’t need to rush into a decision. Still, count on him to sign before the market gets flooded on March 12th.

What do you think, Addicts? Do you want Canty to sign with the Chiefs?
