The end of the 2012 season can’t come soon enough for the Kansas City Chiefs.

If ever a team had a cursed season, it is these Chiefs.

The latest black eye for the organization comes as defensive assistant coach Adam Zimmer was arrested Sunday night and charged with a DUI.

The following, from KCTV5:

A Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach has been arrested for driving while intoxicated after a one-vehicle crash, police said Monday.

Adam Zimmer, a defensive assistant coach, was cited Sunday night. The crash occurred at Ward Parkway and Huntington Road about 9 p.m., and Zimmer was the only occupant.

The Chiefs lost to Colts by 3 p.m. Sunday. Their record is 2-13 in what has been a very disappointing season on the field for the Chiefs.

Darin Snapp, a spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department, said the report was not completed and did not have further details.

Brad Gee, a spokesman for the Chiefs, said the team had just learned about the arrest and was working to gather more details.

Zimmer has been with the Chiefs for three seasons. He’s an assistant linebackers coach under Gary Gibbs.

Seriously irresponsible move on the part of Zimmer.
