The Kansas City Chiefs are back to work today as they prepare for their game Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.

Today’s injury report will be crucial as players that don’t practice during the week often sit out on Sundays. We’ll have the Thursday report for you later but here is how things stand right now.

Groan. This injuries are all terrible. Hamstrings are notoriously pesky and tend to stick around for weeks. Knees, of course, are incredibly dangerous and need to be cared for.

It is good to see Branden Albert is limited but the fact that he has a back injury makes me a little worried. Hopefully it is nothing serious because back injuries are bad news for lineman.

Eric Berry has a hand injury but he was able to come back into the game last Sunday in play with it. I imagine unless there was further damage done that he’ll be able to go this weekend.

As for Albert, DJ and Tamba, who knows?

Lewis is still dealing with his shoulder which is becoming a lingering problem.

To be honest, at this point in the season, I don’t feel like there is any need for these guys to rush back onto the field. Many of these guys are important players that the Chiefs will need in 2013. The 2012 season is burnt toast at this point. I’d rather they sit than risk further injury.
