Chiefs vs. Broncos: Injury Update
Charles LeClaire-US PRESSWIRE
The Kansas City Chiefs will try to go get their second win of the season Sunday when Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos come to Arrowhead Stadium.
Beating the rolling Broncos is going to be difficult no matter what but the banged up Chiefs could be missing some key players when kickoff finally rolls around.
Here is Thursday’s injury report, courtesy of KCChiefs.com:
Albert, Branden | T | Back | DNP | DNP | – | – |
Asamoah, Jon | OL | Thumb | LP | LP | – | – |
Baldwin, Jon | WR | Head/Neck | LP | FP | – | – |
Bowe, Dwayne | WR | Neck/Back | LP | FP | – | – |
Lilja, Ryan | G | Knee | DNP | DNP | – | – |
Maneri, Steve | TE | Ankle | LP | LP | – | – |
Moeaki, Tony | TE | Shoulder/Back | LP | LP | – | – |
As you can see, pretty much the entire offensive line is banged up. As are the team’s starting WRs in Dwayne Bowe and Jon Baldwin.
But there is some good news.
Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel told the media today (thanks Adam Teicher of the KC Star) that he expects both Bowe and Baldwin to play. He also mentioned that G/C Ryan Lilja would practice today and that Albert would attempt to practice but would likely be limited.
Hopefully Tony Moeaki will be able to get back on the field as well. The TE has had a slow start since returning from his ACL injury. He has 21 receptions for 292 yards on the season but seven catches and 141 of that total came in the last two games.
We’ll have more later.
