Video: Jonathan Baldwin Working Out In The Middle Of The Night
Kansas City Chiefs WR Jonathan Baldwin had a disappointing rookie season that began with a lockout and a locker room fight and ended with below average numbers and one touchdown.
It would appear that Mr. Baldwin has non intention of allowing 2012 to go the same way.
The second-year WR has been drawing rave reviews for his athleticism and work this offseason. It seemed as though every day during OTA practices there was another story about Baldwin making a highlight reel catch.
Last night, Baldwin posted a video on Twitter at 1:30am. The Chiefs are off until training camp but Baldwin is back in his hometown of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania working out and running by his old high school.
This video should further endear Baldwin to Chiefs fans who have high expectations for him heading into the season. Moreover, Baldwin is being presented with a golden opportunity. The team’s #1 WR Dwayne Bowe skipped all of OTAs as he tries to work out a long-term deal with the Chiefs. Baldwin was thus the benefactor of much-needed extra practice reps.
Check out Baldwin’s video and pep-talk below. If this doesn’t help get you fired up I don’t know what will. Hell, I’m ready to grab a helmet and get out there myself. Granted, I’d be leaving the field on a stretcher after the very next whistle but still!
If Baldwin does have a break-out season in 2012, we’ll look back on moments like this and know exactly how he did it.
I think I speak for us all when I say, “keep grindin’ Jon!.”
