Afternoon Fix. I was in Chicago with the fiance so my parents could hang out with her parents for a weekend as a sort of get to know you thing. A great time was had by all but now it’s back to work.

When The Star examined the available documentation of the 76 lawsuits, compiled on the website NFLConcussionLitigation.com, it found that at least 116 former Chiefs players, including three members of the team’s Hall of Honor — Still, former offensive lineman Ed Budde and former defensive lineman Curley Culp — are among those suing the league that once employed them. Many of the suits seek damages of more than $5 million and allege that each plaintiff suffered repeated head trauma during his career.

The worst anybody can say about Dwayne since “the Clarks” apology is that he didn’t make a better effort to knock down a bad pass from Palko at the end of the Steelers game and isn’t it at least possible that our reaction to that play would’ve been much different if not for Bowe’s baggage?
In the last two years, only Calvin Johnson, Roddy White, Larry Fitzgerald, Mike Wallace, Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd have more receiving yards. Only Johnson and Greg Jennings have more touchdowns. All of them except Fitzgerald and Lloyd have played with better quarterbacks, in better offenses.
And have you noticed what Bowe hasn’t done the last two years? No suspensions, no stupid quotes, not even the hint of his success driving him to the destructive habits of his youth.

If Friday was any indication, pace won’t be an issue. Like Welker, Wylie’s got a pair of talons for hands. Like Welker, the cat gets from zero to 60 in about two seconds flat. And like Welker, he’s a sawed-off little son of a gun — in cleats, Wylie just about hits 5-foot-9.
“Part of my game is being elusive and quick, and being able to dodge hitters,” said Wylie, who caught 56 balls for 716 yards last season. “That’s the way I’ve been able to survive this far and been able to be successful with the size that I have. And yeah, definitely, I feel like I can play with this size of players.”
Elusive is good. Elusive and cocky is even better.

“With that position group, the more they work together, the more they will jell,” Crennel said. “I think everybody knows that. The sooner you can get the guys that you have working together, the better chance they have to jell. They will jell because the nature of that group is that they like to hang out together, they like to do things together. But you’ve got to keep them together to make that happen.”
That’s particularly important for the Chiefs, who are getting younger on the offensive line. Among the five starters, Lilja is the oldest at 30 and the only one over 28. Hudson will be in his first year as a starter, just as Asamoah was last year.
