NFL Expands Offseason Rosters To 90

The NFL has announced that it is raising the offseason roster limit from 80 players to 90.

This is good news for fringe players and players unlikely to get drafted as teams will have ten more available roster sports heading into training camp. The final roster will still be 53 and teams will need to hack their roster from 90 to 75 after the third preseason game.

Teams are likely in full draft mode right now but given this news I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few random signings before Thursday night. Teams that may have been holding off on signing guys on the street right now so they could see which players will go undrafted might be more inclined to make some moves now that they know they’ve got the extra roster space.

What do you think Addicts? Does this mean Scott Pioli will go ahead and bring back Sabby Piscitelli before the draft?
