Jackie Battle Visits The Chargers

The Kansas City Chiefs signed free agent running back Peyton Hillis this offseason and it could mean they don’t have much interest in retaining one of their own free agent backs in Jackie Battle.

Battle stepped up last season after Jamaal Charles went down to injury and was lost for the season. Battle worked in a RB platoon featuring Thomas Jones and Dexter McCluster.

Battle was mostly a special teamer until last season when he finally got the chance to get significant snaps. He finished the season with 597 yards and three TDs. He averaged 4.0 yards per carry.

Battle is only 28 and could be a solid backup for a team with a strong offensive line. The Chargers are likely looking at him as a replacement for Mike Tolbert, who recently signed with the Panthers.

What do you think Addicts? Did the Chiefs make a mistake letting Battle go?
