Chiefs Talked With Thomas Mayo At Shrine Game

According to Josh Buchanan of JBScouting, the Kansas City Chiefs talked with California (PA) WR Thomas Mayo at last week’s East-West Shrine game.

Mayo is out of Division-II and it doesn’t look like he is being projected as a draft pick. He seems to be one of those diamond in the rough type players that a team might take a chance on in the seventh round or as an undrafted free agent. He’s listed at 6-1, 200 pounds.

I would expect the Chiefs might look at a lot more receivers like this. The team has a nice front line of Dwayne Bowe, Steve Breaston and Jon Baldwin, but after that, there isn’t much. Teams seem to be finding quality receivers late in the draft these days so it might not be bad for the Chiefs to snoop around for depth at the position this offseason. We all know Pioli loves a value.
