The 2011 season is over and that means for the teams that are not playoff bound, the attention turns to the 2012 NFL Draft.
There are still some things that need to be figured out as far as the playoff teams go and there are a couple ties that need to be decided via coin flips but for the most part the top 20 draft spots are set.
1. Indianapolis Colts
2. St. Louis Rams
3. Minnesota Vikings
4. Cleveland Browns
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
6. Washington Redskins
7. Jacksonville Jaguars
8/9. Miami Dolphins and Carolina Panthers
10. Buffalo Bill
11/12. Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks
The rest after the jump.
13. Arizona Cardinals
14. Dallas Cowboys
15. Philadelphia Eagles
16. New York Jets
17. Oakland Raiders (Traded to Cincinnati)
18. San Diego Chargers
19. Chicago Bears
20. Tennessee Titans
Picks 21-32 are determined based on playoff results.
Now we know the Chiefs will either pick 11th or 12th. Not a bad slot, in my opinion, because it gives the Chiefs some flexibility to potentially move up if they have a player that they really want.
Had the Chiefs lost to the Broncos today, they would have finished with a record of 6-10, putting the in a tie with the Bills, Panthers and Dolphins. Since the Chiefs lost to both the Bills and Dolphins, there would have been a coin flip between KC and Carolina for the 8th and 9th picks.
Get ready for the mock drafts to start really heating up.
