The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers tonight without QB Orton.
Orton was not able to attend practice with his new team until Friday so it was always a stretch that the Chiefs were going to waste a game-day spot on a QB who doesn’t know the playbook.
That means the Chiefs will roll with Tyler Palko, with Ricky Stanzi being his backup. I would expect that Orton will be on the sideline learning plays.
Other injury news and inactives for the Chiefs:
DE Glenn Dorsey will play.
Inactives: Donald Washington, Demorrio Williams, Ryan Lilja, Jake O’Connell, Brandon Bair, Jerelle Powe, Kyle Orton
With Lilja inactive, Rodney Hudson will get his first NFL start at guard. With Dorsey back, Amon Gordon will go back to NT and Powe is inactive. Washington is inactive likely because he sucks. Unfortunately, that means there is one less man between Sabby Piscitelli and playing time.
