Report: Chiefs Place TE Tony Moeaki On IR With ACL Injury

First, the doomsday schedule was released. Then Jonathan Baldwin injured his hand while pretending like the Chiefs’ locker room was the UFC’s Octagon. Even Alec Baldwin isn’t so dramatic. Next there was the Chiefs’ offense serving as a one-team blooper reel during the preseason. At times the offensive outfit looked like they couldn’t advance the ball against a Pop Warner team. Now comes the report that Tony Moeaki has been placed on injured reserve. SI’s Will Carrol is reporting that he tore his ACL.

At some point you almost just want to toss your hands up and say this isn’t going to be our year. Fellow pessimists, we’ve reached that point. The optimists will likely need a little more catastrophe in order to join us.

Hopefully, the Chiefs can make a trade and bring in a replacement. My suggestion would be Jacob Tamme, the Colts tight end who did a helluva job impersonating an injured Dallas Clark down the stretch in 2010. Stay tuned.
