After last night’s chaos and excitement, we are reminded today that somethings are more important than football.
As we told you earlier this week, Myra Kraft, the wife of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, passed away after losing her battle with cancer. Her funeral is today and many, many NFL owners, players and personnel are in attendance.
Still, the news world keeps on turning and so the NFLPA/Trade Association has released a brief statement.
“Player leadership is discussing the most recent written proposal with the NFL, which includes a settlement agreement deal terms and the right process for addressing recertification. There will not be any further NFLPA statements today respect for the Kraft family while they mourn the loss of Myra Kraft.”
The statement was made by union/trade association president Kevin Mawae.
Union/trade association rep, Dee Smith, is in attendance at Kraft’s funeral.
PreThe players are taking their time and reviewing every inch of the proposed agreement today. After initial reports from ESPN’s Chris Mortenson last night that the players would vote today, ESPN is now pulling back a bit. There is still a chance a vote could come late tonight but it may take until sometime Saturday or even Sunday. We just don’t know. We also have no idea how long a delay in the vote will impact the proposed timeline for moving forwar dthe NFL laid out last night. This is, of course, assuming the players approve the deal.
Stay tuned.
