The Kansas City Chiefs players continue to receive awards and recognition for their 2010 season and that trend continued today when RB Jamaal Charles was ranked 74th in Business Week’s “Power 100” list of American Athletes.
Here is what they had to say about Charles:
"Jamaal Charles notched 6.4 yards per carry, the league’s highest for a running back with more than 100 attempts. This earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl and put him on the map. We’re guessing the Chiefs will hand him the ball more frequently in 2011."
Jamaal joins a list of some of sport’s most influential and popular athletes. Peyton Manning topped the list with Tom Brady coming in at #4.
More after the jump.
Charles is the only Kansas City player on the list. If the Chiefs do give him the ball a little bit more next season, like the article suggests, Charles could find himself moving up the list.
It is nice to see Charles getting the recognition he deserves. Part of becoming a good team is that your star players start showing up on the national radar. Things like this will help get Charles and the Chiefs more coverage and we are all for that.
