The Kansas City Chiefs are less than two weeks away from their first playoff appearance since 2006 and they are fortunate enough to have nearly all of their players healthy.
Of course, healthy is a relative term this time of year. Chances are that most of the players are dealing with some kind of injury or lingering issue but given the importance of being on the field at this time of year, it appears the Chiefs players are showing some serious toughness.
For the second straight day, the Chiefs released an injury report with only one name on it. The name is that of safety Donald Washington.
Washington has been dealing with an ankle injury and has not practiced in some time. That did not change today and it does not look like Washington will be available for Sunday’s game against the Raiders. At this point, I’d call his status for the first round of the playoffs doubtful as well.
Let’s just hope that Washington’s is still the only name on the injury report after Week 17.
It is pretty rare for an NFL team to have so few names on their injury report at this time of year. What do you think this says about the Todd Haley and the way he handles the team? Is this good fortune a result of better conditioning, a message that if you aren’t on the field you aren’t helping the team or a little of both?
