Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson has been awarded the NFL Defensive Player of the Week award.
Johnson, who had sort of dropped off the radar for a few weeks there, had a spectacular game in St. Louis, racking up 17 tackles and 4 pass defenses.
Johnson joins Kendrick Lewis and Jamaal Charles, who are also up for weekly awards.
Lewis was nominated for the Rookie of the Week award for his 2-interception performance Sunday and Charles is up for the Fedex Ground Player of the Week honor for his work running the ball.
Congratulations to DJ on a fantastic game. Hopefully he can stay hot because the Chiefs are going to need strong play from everyone to finish the job and win the AFC West.
