Chiefs Extend Long Snapper Gafford’s Contract
While the Kansas City Chiefs are taking care of business on the field, GM Scott Pioli is taking care of business in the front office.
Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star is reporting the Chiefs have extended the contract of long snapper Thomas Gafford by two years.
Gafford is a name you don’t hear very often and for the Chiefs, that is a good thing. Typically if you hear the announcers talking about the long snapper it is probably because he is doing a poor job.
Gafford marks the third recent contract extension by the Chiefs. They have recently given extensions to OLB Andy Studebaker and MLB Derrick Johnson.
I like that Pioli is getting a lot of these deals done now during the season. The more players he can get locked up now the more focus he can put on the draft and free agency after the Chiefs win the Super Bowl.
