Chiefs @ Raiders: Experts Split On The Victor

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Oakland Raiders are on a collision course this Sunday and the winner will have bragging rights in the AFC West.

So who is going to win?

The experts at ESPN aren’t sure.

Most of Kansas City’s games this season have been unanimous picks either for or against the Chiefs. This week, however, with Oakland coming off two big wins, the vote seems to be split.

Of the 8 ESPN.com experts, 5 are picking the Chief and three are picking the Raiders.

I know how they feel. I have been trying to decide my official pick for the game all week and I am still on the fence. The Chiefs are winning but they aren’t playing with the same intensity the Oakland Raiders are right now. I feel like the Chiefs are playing a little tight and that they are almost playing not to lose instead of playing to win.

My worry is that the Chiefs are walking into a trap in Oakland. The Raiders are going to be fired up in front of their home crowd and if the Chiefs don’t match their intensity, I feat it could be a long day for Kansas City.

On the other hand I feel like the Chiefs are a well coached, fundamentally sound team. I’m not saying they aren’t emotional but the fact that they seem to keep a cool head could work in their favor if an emotional Raiders team makes some mistakes. I could easily see this game going something like the Jaguars contest. It will be close for a while and then a big defensive play will break things open.

I am still on the fence and as is tradition, I won’t reveal my official pick until Sunday morning.
