Dexter McCluster Named Pepsi Rookie Of The Week

facebooktwitterreddit

Kansas City Chiefs rookie Dexter McCluster has been named the Pepsi Rookie of the Week over at NFL.com.

Sure it is a meaningless Pepsi promotional award but dang it, things have been so bad for the Chiefs the last three years that we’ll take any recognition we can get. It is always nice to see the Chiefs getting some national attention.

McCluster beat out fellow rookies Nate Allen of the Philadelphia Eagles, defensive tackle Tyson Alualu of the Jacksonville Jaguars, running back Jahvid Best of the Detroit Lions, and wide receiver Mike Williams of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This is McCluster’s second award this week as he was already awarded the NFL’s Special Teams Player of the Week award.

Not bad for his first game in the NFL, eh?
