Chiefs Release WR Lance Long
Today marks the deadline for teams to cut their rosters down to 75 players. The Chiefs released 4 players on
Sunday and still needed to cut one more player to reach 75.
The player is Lance Long.
The release of Long is a tribute to how far the Chiefs receivers have come since 2009. Long was pulled off the scrap heap and after an impressive debut with Kansas City, became a non-factor the longer he was around. Long caught 20 passes for 178 yards for the Chiefs after being activated from the team’s practice squad in October.
The Chiefs still have Bowe, Chambers, McCluster, Copper, Urban, Lawrence and Horne slugging it out on the WR depth chart.
