Keep your eye on this story stream as it will update throughout the game!

10:24 PM: The Chiefs reserves gave up a late TD and the Chiefs lost to the Eagles 20-17. Still, the Chiefs 1st team clearly outplayed the Eagles, especially on defense. There were a lot of encouraging and discouraging signs tonight. We’ll have a full wrap up for you tomorrow morning.

10:10 PM: The Chiefs ran Jackie Battle for a drive that ended in a Ryan Succop FG, extending their lead to 17-13 with just over 2 minutes to go. Chiefs lead by 4 and look for their first win of the preseason.

9:54 PM: The Chiefs are playing with reserves but they have kept up their intensity. They have the Eagles backed up against their own endzone as the 4th ticks on.

9:35 PM: Eagles first team offense manages a FG against Chiefs 2nd string D. Sheffield injury looms over game now.

9:31 PM: Chiefs rookie Cameron Sheffield was carted off the field on a stretcher after a helmet to helmet hit with Mike Bell. The situation looks very serious.

The Chiefs have inserted mostly backups on defense as the 3rd quarter ends.

9:17 PM: Chiefs respond to horrible first quarter.

8:35 PM: In a game that started in disastrous  fashion for the Chiefs, Kansas City is hanging tough. The offense got off to a very rocky start and for most of the first quarter, they looked like the same inept unit that went 4-12 a season ago. The defense had to pick up the slack and they responded. The Chiefs have 3 first half sacks, 2 of which came from Andy Studebaker. All of the Eagles points came off tunovers and once the Chiefs offense settled down they were able to march down the field and score 7.

Jamaal Charles appeared to injure his elbow in the closing seconds of the first half. We’ll have updates as they come in.

8:18 PM: Chiefs fight back with a long offensive drive ending in a TD pass to Dwayne Bowe. Eagles lead it 10-7 in the closing seconds of the 2nd quarter.

7:40 PM: Eagles take 10-0 lead due to terrible play on offense by the Chiefs. Defense looks tough.

7:26 PM: Cassel can’t find anyone open, throws pick intended for Moeaki.

7:20 PM: Demorrio Williams records first sack of the 2010 season for the Chiefs. Defense gets a 3 and out.

7:12 PM: Charles fumbles opening snap. McGraw misses a tackle and Eagles score a TD. Great start.

6:46 PM: Chiefs scratch two for tonight’s game. Maurice Leggett and Darryl Harris will sit. That means Brodie Croyle will play.

6:36 PM: The Chiefs and Eagles are just moments away from kickoff. They will be breaking in the new Arrowhead Stadium and Todd Haley and his team are hoping the old Arrowhead advantage makes a come back tonight in the third and most important preseason game. The starters are likely to play will in to the 3rd quarter so make sure you don’t miss a snap.
