The Kansas City Chiefs may have trouble selling tickets at Arrowhead this year if the team fails to win but at least they know folks will show up for free.

The Chiefs welcomed a staggering 22, 142 fans to Arrowhead Stadium tonight for an open practice under the lights.

From Josh Looney via Twitter:

"JoshLooney22,142 fans came out to watch practice and tour the #Chiefs Hall of Honor tonight…solid"

This is the biggest crowd the Chiefs have had this offseason. Previously the team saw over 10,000 fans show up for a scrimmage in St. Joe’s.

It is great to see the Chiefs are still getting such a high level of support from their fans, especially have the last three miserable years.

Still, unless the optimism is rewarded with victories on the field in 2010, the Chief may have giving away tickets by the end of the season.
