Raiders Lose Two OTA Practices

Earlier in the week, the Baltimore Ravens had some OTA practices taken away because they broke offseason workout rules.

Well now it is happening in the AFC West.

ESPN.com is reporting, via the Oakland Tribune that the Raiders will be stripped of two practice sessions.

"Via the Tribune, here are the contents of the e-mail: “The NFL Management Council and the NFL Players Association have resolved a dispute concerning the Oakland Raiders’ off-season workout program. As a result, the parties have agreed to cancel two days of the Raiders’ off-season program (next Wednesday and Thursday, June 16 and 17) which had previously been designated as OTA days. Raiders’ players are not permitted to be at the facility on those days, but will be paid for the sessions. The club cannot reschedule the cancelled OTA days.”"

Thee are strict rules about the amount of contact allowed at OTAs as well as how many can be held in a week and how long they can be.

All teams probably bend the rules to some extent so a club has to really go far to get disciplined. It usually means a player for the tea in question filed a complaint. This doesn’t necessarily mean Tom Cable has lost control of the team but it is still something franchises like the Raiders and Chiefs need to avoid.

When you haven’t been winning, the more positive vibes you have around your team, the better.
