OTA Practice Report

One of our most valuable resources throughout OTA’s and training camp will be Bob Gretz. If you spend enough time around here you know how much we rely on Bob for information and his site, BobGretz.com, is a daily must read for Chiefs fans.

Well, Bob will be providing practice reports throughout OTA’s, the first of which has recently been posted.

Here are some highlights:

*Ryan Lilja ran with the first team offensive line. Rudy Niswanger was the “starting” center and Weigmann lined up with the 2nd team.

*Jon Asamoah lined up with the 3rd team offensive line.

*The front 7 lined up the same as last year.

*RB Jamaal Charles, CB Brandon Flowers, TE Brad Cottam, WR Quentin Lawrence, WR Lance Long and draft choice TE Tony Moeaki all sat out with injury. Nothing serious.

*The 2nd team linebackers were Andy Studebaker, Derrick Johnson, Jovan Belcher and Pierre Walters.

Bob doesn’t really mention any of the rookies, other than that Jon Asamoah lined up with the 3rd team. I am sure Haley is going to make all the rookies work their way up the depth chart throughout the offseason, which is fine with me.

Don’t take any of what you see here to the lineups we are going to see come September. As Haley always says, the guys that do things the way the coaches want and that give the team the best chance to win on Sunday will be the ones who will play. The competition should be good for everyone.
