FA Notes
More action going down across the NFL. Below are some highlights but here is a total recap thanks to Pro Football Talk who is doing a fantastic job covering FA.
NFL Fanhouse is reporting the Giants are close to signing Antrell Rolle:
"Former Cardinals safety Antrel Rolle, one of the biggest unrestricted free agents on the market, is on the verge of completing a deal with the New York Giants, an NFL source with knowledge of the situation told FanHouse.Rolle was released by the Cardinals on Thursday, so that Arizona could sidestep a $4 million roster bonus owed him on March 5."
It looks like the Chiefs may still have to face Brandon Marshall next season but not as a Bronco. The Seahawks may make him an offer according to Pro Football Talk:
"ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Seahawks are strongly considering signing Broncos wideout Brandon Marshall to an offer sheet. If the Seahawks signed Marshall and the Broncos didn’t match the contract, Seattle would owe Denver the No. 6 overall pick in the draft. But that’s not very likely to happen. The Seahawks and Broncos can negotiate to send lesser trade compensation more befitting Marshall’s value.Seattle owns the No. 14 pick in the draft, which they got from Denver last year. They probably would have to use that in a trade unless they could convince the Broncos to take less.Either way, Schefter writes Seattle is “absolutely” preparing to make a run at Marshall. There doesn’t appear to be a lot of competition for him, so we don’t see why it can’t happen."
Adam Schefter reports via Twitter that Julius Peppers is a Bear:
"Adam_SchefterFiled to ESPN: Bears will announce it when they’re ready, but the Julius Peppers deal is agreed to. He is a Bear."
