Report: Chiefs Hire Defensive Line and Tight End Coaches

facebooktwitterreddit

Brad Briggs of the National Football Post is reporting that the Chiefs have hired Antony Pleasant to be their new defensive line coach and that Bernie Parmalee will be brought on to coach the tight ends.

From the article:

"Pleasant is a 14-year NFL veteran who spent his final three seasons with the New England Patriots where general manager Scott Pioli was. Both Pleasant and Parmalee spent time with the New York Jets when Haley was on the scouting and coaching staffs there.Pleasant will work with a group where the Chiefs have invested heavily recently with draft picks. They have used first-round choices on Tyson Jackson and Glenn Dorsey the last two years.Parmalee worked under Weis at Notre Dame and is credited for helping develop tight ends John Carlson and Anthony Fasano."

Hopefully Pleasant and his 14 years will have a positive effect on Genn Dorsey, Tyson Jackson and whoever the Chiefs get to fill the NT position. Anything he can do to speed up the development of what is sure to be an extremely talented and young group of defensive lineman will be of great benefit to the Chiefs.
