How I miss the feeling of other teams envying what we’ve got!
Leadblogger Jamie for MusketFire.com has a nice writeup on the Weis/Crennel acquisitions. Here he is on Crennel:
"What the Chiefs are now getting (reportedly) is a defensive coach who the players want to play for because he is tough, fair, and puts together a very good game plan. Crennel follows the Belichick model of taking away what the opposing team does best, forcing it to try and win with its weaknesses."
Thank goodness. I remember the Schottenheimer defenses (and to a lesser extent Gunther’s) focused on forcing a team’s “other weapons” to beat you. We desperately need a return to that philosophy.
Patriots fans and media are finally starting to weigh in on these coordinator acquisitions. What have you been hearing?
