The baseball journey for Sanders Commings has hit a brick wall with his release from the Atlanta Braves organization.
Former Kansas City Chiefs safety Sanders Commings had a dream of playing professional baseball. Even as a football player for the University of Georgia and even the Chiefs, Commings grew up idolizing the likes of Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson, two sport stars who enjoyed the fruits of their athleticism by not having to choose just one professional sport. So as injuries ended his NFL career prematurely, Commings chose to chase the other sport of baseball. Unfortunately that dream has hit a wall with his release from the Atlanta Braves organization.
Commings had been a member of the Danville Braves, a rookie league affiliate where he was seven years older than his peers, but unfortunately his bat didn’t look ready for even that level. Commings had only 2 hits in 15 plate appearances with Danville, good for a .154 batting average. Given the fact that Commings hasn’t swung a bat on a regular basis since his high school days nearly a decade ago, everyone involved had to know it was going to take considerable time and effort to get back into a rhythm at the plate.
Fortunately Commings himself realizes this and seems committed to chasing his dream.
