Some bad news out of Washington on Saturday with word that the Huskies cornerback Sidney Jones went down with an injury during the school’s pro day.

Sidney Jones is a talented cornerback whose career with the Washington Huskies is expected to provide him the perfect launching point for a strong pro career. The corner has often been given first round grades, and some mock drafts have even put Jones in the defensive backfield alongside Marcus Peters, his former college teammate, on the Kansas City Chiefs. Unfortunately, Jones went down with a reported leg injury during a pro day at the University of Washington.

Jones is often compared to Marcus Peters and not just because they both attended Washington. Jones has tremendous skills in the secondary, works out with Peters in the offseason and projects well at the NFL level. Jones has 8 career interceptions in his collegiate career, including two last season as quarterbacks often avoided throwing his way. He also had 39 total tackles in 2016 with 2 forced fumbles.
