Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles has been listed as questionable on Sunday due to swelling in his surgically repaired knee.

Just last week, Jamaal Charles looked like his old self. The 29-year-old former All-Pro was juking and cutting like he always has, on the way to a 26-10 win for the Chiefs in the Oakland Coliseum. Now, Kansas City is being hit with some scary news.

Head coach Andy Reid watched Charles go from a full to limited participant in practice on Friday after there was swelling in the repaired knee. Now, this doesn’t mean that Charles has a serious problem. He could simply be working his way back a bit longer than we expected, and his knee is just reacting to increased action.

Still, you never like to see this. Charles was able to carry the ball nine times against the Raiders and catch another two passes, while scoring his first touchdown of the season. Reid stated that both he and cornerback Phillip Gaines would be questionable for Sunday’s contest against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.

If Charles can’t go, look for the Chiefs to go heavy once more with Spencer Ware while Charcandrick West gets the other carries.
