The Kansas City Chiefs are a good team, and they are being treated like one.

Kansas City is opening the NFL regular season on Sunday afternoon against the San Diego Chargers on Arrowhead Stadium. Depending on where you go, the Chiefs are either favored by 6.5 or seven points.

Going into the contest, everyone and their mother is making picks and predictions (including this guy, tomorrow). Here’s what the experts are saying:

CBS Sports (KC – 7, SD – 1)

Everybody picked Kansas City except for Will Brinson, who somehow has Kansas City finishing fourth in the AFC West. Yes, they pay Brinson and stuff. Jared Dubin and Pete Prisco are taking the Chiefs to win, but believe the Chargers will cover the spread.

SB Nation (KC – 9, SD – 0)

Kansas City picks up the clean sweep here. Most believe that the Chiefs will be able to run the ball against the Chargers and, while on defense, stop the run. Kansas City’s only real concern should be getting pressure on Philip Rivers. If the Chiefs can force Rivers to take a couple sacks and maybe throw the ball away here and there, things look good.

ESPN ( KC – 9, SD – 0)

Not all of the picks are in yet, but for those who have selected, Kansas City is looking unanimous again. It’s tough to see the Chiefs losing this game unless they go all 2014 and blow the home opener. It would take a bevy of mistakes to fall short, something of a disaster.

Ultimately, it would be a brutal loss for the Chiefs should something go wrong. Kansas City is getting the weakest division opponent, at home, to start the season. If 2015 taught this team anything, it should be that every game matters.
