On Thursday, Kansas City Chiefs general manager John Dorsey spoke to media at the NFL Scouting Combine.

The Chiefs are one of the more interesting teams to watch throughout free agency, and Dorsey is laying out what to expect in the coming days and weeks. When speaking to the national media, Dorseymade a pretty interesting statement when asked about Derrick Johnson.

The general manager also told the masses that while the team reached out to Chase Daniel, he is looking to start.

Dorsey then went into the Eric Berry situation, relaying that he has a meeting with Berry’s reps this weekend. We can all hope that there is some serious movement and perhaps a long-term deal, with the franchise tag deadline looming on March 1.

None of this is Earth-shattering, but at the same point, it is good to know that Berry’s group and the Chiefs are having solid dialogue. Clearly, Berry is one of the most important players on the team and if the Chiefs can lock him up without using the tag (and a major cap hit) that would be fantastic.
