Chiefs-Packers: Expect bad weather

The Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers will play on Monday Night Football, but don’t expect ideal conditions. Green Bay is a place where weather always has to be factored in, but usually the winter is the main focus. Instead, tonight, the forecast is calling for rain throughout the evening.

Rain is supposed to start at 6 p.m. local time and continue through midnight, with the temperature hovering around 65 degrees. The wind should be a non-factor, but if the rain is really coming down, the game could be impacted.

This might be an advantage for the Chiefs. Aaron Rodgers is a great quarterback, and getting some moisture between his fingers and the football could be a break for Kansas City. Rodgers does know how to deal with the elements, but snow has a different impact than rain.

Meanwhile, Lambeau Field is natural grass. If the rain is steady throughout the night, players will have a tougher time running on the surface. The dampness could hurt the ability of Jamaal Charles to sneak through a hole or two, while the Packers’ receivers might struggle to get in and out of breaks.

Of course, this is the weather we are talking about. Would it really shock anyone if the forecast continues to call for rain and we get a beautiful evening? No. That said, the Weather Channel says bring an umbrella, because the rain will be present all night long.
