Jeremy Maclin has ‘special feeling’ about Chiefs

This might just be a player feeling very good about his team before the bullets are live, or he might really feel something unique. This quandary is for you to decide.

On Wednesday, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Jeremy Maclin spoke to the local media and made a statement that caught everybody’s ear.

"“Yeah, I’m excited about it, I’m excited to play some games that mean something. I’m excited about it, I’m excited to be here, like I’ve always said from the start. I believe that we’ve got something special here. I believe if we go out here and continue to get better each and every day we’ll be in good shape. I’m excited about this opportunity to play here and play with these guys.”"

This is an interesting comment. Maclin is entering the first year with Kansas City after playing the first five years of his productive career with the Philadelphia Eagles. Maclin has been to the playoffs before, getting as far as the NFC Championship game before being turned back by the Arizona Cardinals.

Maclin’s arrival, coupled with the returns of Derrick Johnson, Mike DeVito and Eric Berry, have people believing that the Chiefs could be a team on the rise. In fact, many are picking them to dethrone the Denver Broncos, who have won the AFC West each of the past four seasons.

“It’s a feeling man, it’s a feeling. On paper, we’ve got talent, but I think as far as believing it can grow to be something bigger, I think it’s a feeling.”

Hopefully Maclin is right, and Kansas City can finally get a postseason win for the first time since 1993. The Chiefs have been on the cusp of being very competitive each of the past two seasons. It is time for them to take the next step into January … and beyond.
