Allow me to introduce myself

My name is Matt Verderame, and I’m going to be the new Editor-in-Chief here at Arrowhead Addict, beginning officially on April 6.

I’d like to tell all of you a little bit about myself, since I’m the stranger coming into your house. First off, it is pronounced VER-DER-RAM. I figure I’ll save you the years of confusion by just being up front about my Italian turned quasi-American last name. I’m also a 26-year-old New Yorker with a love of chocolate, pizza and Saranac Root Beer.

Secondly, I come to AA very excited about the website and FanSided in general. There have been some incredibly talented people at this site before myself, and I intend to build upon the great foundation already laid. I’m excited to work with all of the men in place here, ranging from Brett Gering to Laddie Morse, Merlin, Stacy Smith, Lyle Graversen, Joshua Brisco, Patrick Allen, Nick Floyd and Jonathan Rhodes.

Some of you might be familiar with me from my days at SB Nation’s Arrowhead Pride. I will be bringing the same passion here that I covered the Chiefs with there. For those unfamiliar with me, I like to write a mix of pieces ranging from columns to film studies, picks to power rankings, analysis to longform.

My email is available if you click on my profile link, and I am always available for a question, observation or suggestion. I appreciate every loyal reader here, and all the new ones who will be showing up. You all have important voices, and I look forward to hearing them in all venues. My account on Twitter is @MattVerderame (I was feeling creative). Feel free to tweet your heart out and I’ll respond.

Ultimately, this is a website dedicated to covering Chiefs news. I can promise we will be quick to react when stories break. We will tackle signings, draft picks, training camp and of course, games, from all angles with timeliness and tenacity. We also will have exclusive interviews with analysts, former players, national writers and more.

Thanks for taking the time to learn a little about me. I look forward to getting to work for you.
