Brandon Flowers Close To Picking Team

Former Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers is close to picking his new team, according to a report from Jason La Canfora. Here the tweet of note:

There was no speculation as to who Flowers will choose but there have been reports of Flowers visiting with the San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers. There’s always a chance another team swoops in and signs the veteran in the next few days.

Should Flowers end up signing with one of those two teams, the Chiefs will have the opportunity to face him at least once. Kansas City plays the Steelers in week 16 and have two match-ups against the Chargers in weeks 7 and 17. Flowers would join a list with Dexter McCluster, Brandon Albert, and Glenn Dorsey of recent former players who will be playing against the Chiefs this season.

Ah, with bated breath, pins and needles.

    The slow month begins.

    • freshmeat62

Yeah but it’s only 8 more days until the month of training camp. It may be late in the month that it starts, but as far as I’m concerned, July is the start of football season.

      • berttheclock

You do place a very positive spin upon the subject.

      • mnelson52

Yes. Only 30 days left till we can say tomorrow starts Training Camp…lol

        • freshmeat62

I like my number better – 8 days till july, football season. lol

There are tons of work to be done to be ready for the season. We will not know what is happening but DorseyReidcoaches will lose a lot of sleep and hair finding the right 53.

      • Kisersosay

I don’t know about the right 53 but they certainly will have a faster 53……and I am ok with that.

  • Stacy D. Smith

I hope he picks the Chargers so we can pick on him twice this year.

    • Reggie Flenory

I hope not i domt wanna see bruh in the west at all it just makes me puke thinkin about him wearim that dam chragers uni

      • Stacy D. Smith

It will only hurt until he’s lined up across from De’Anthony Thomas. Then I’ll have no issue with it. #Get6 #DAT

        • Reggie Flenory

I dont wanna see em no where in the afc west bruh im still a fan of b flowers its like when you break up wit a chick you dont wanna see her dating ya homie right after lmao

          • Jcomp33

The Chargers won a playoff game. They are better than you are giving them credit for.

          • Reggie Flenory

Im not dis crediting he chargers at all i know they are good i dont wanna see flower in the divison period with any team but the chiefs thats the basis of my argumemt

          • berttheclock

Without the aid of the inept refs, the Steelers would have had a chance to win that playoff game.

    • micah stephenson

Pick on him how? Will Flowers b covering the check down wr or something? Lol. ASS11 is not the type that “picks” on somebody. Lol

  • tm1946

One of my favorite former Chief players, seemed a classy part of the organization.

Wish him the best and hope he is part of winning team, except when they play the Chiefs.

  • berttheclock

The Bolts have just claimed a former Chiefs player. Flowers? No, he is not on the waiver wire. But, Chas Alecxih was and the Bolts have nabbed the defensive player. The Bolts have about $3 M in cap money, so, while, they may want Flowers, he may get a better financial offer elsewhere.

    • Jcomp33

They can cut Clary and free-up another $3 Million.

It did not take long for someone with the Saints to dub Brandin Cooks “Lightning”. He has only been with them about the same amount of time as DAT has been with the Chiefs. Oregon State runs the same quarter system. But, one point about Cooks was interesting. He said he was going to go to San Diego during the break to spend time with Drew Brees and better understand the Saints system where he will fill the role of Sproles. I wonder if DAT is going to spend some time with Alex Smith. I await the days of St Joe where more and more Chiefs players are going to ask “Who DAT?” as he streaks by them.

Sure will miss a cornerback that tackles…such a shame

  • Randall Miller

If we have to face Brandon this year we know his weaknesses.
