The team has yet to confirm the signing but it looks like Husain Abdullah is going to be back with the Chiefs. Here’s the initial report:

And here’s why we think Abdullah has re-signed:

We broke down why we think the Abdullah re-signing would be key for the Chiefs in an earlier post.

Kansas City has a few more free agents remaining: Akeem Jordan, Kendrick Lewis, Quintin Demps, and Kyle Williams. We’ve heard there has been interest in Jordan from a few other teams and the Chiefs are still negotiating with him. Williams, too, has received interest. Not much has been said about Lewis and Demps.

One would think Lewis will not return after the season he had last year and with the anticipated return of Sanders Comings. Demps could be a guy who is re-signed for depth and to continue running back kicks. However, all of that is speculation at this point.

And now at least we can say the Chiefs didn’t lose every FA they started the day with!!!

      Cheers Troy.

After a brutal day like today, about all you can say is bottoms up!
Today or this off-season is so not going the way I had envisioned!!! Really kind of sad…

I don’t think it is what any of us thought would happen the first day, but Dorsey has to have a plan in place to counter losing the players that we have lost to FA. I can’t see the Chiefs organization wanting to go backwards after having a winning season. I sure hope I am right but I must say I am still a little uneasy. In the days to come, hopefully, we will see some more movement by the Chiefs than what they have shown so far.

Not as butt-hurt as I was last night… I have known all along we were not going to be active in FA’cy, I did expect we would maybe try to resign a couple of our lineman though… That said, I do believe R&D have a plan & KC is not finished in FA yet!
Guess the next 7-10 days will tell us for sure???

Knee jerk emotional reaction = WTH?????? We let ALL 3 OL starters go – and Dexter. Like Abdullah signing. Deep breath………… I trust (pray) that Act II in Dorsey’s plan is inspiring.

What did anyone really expect with the lack of cap room we have? Schwartz to me sucks losing him but if a team was willing to overspend we can’t control that. Day one of free agency is a joke, all these players we lost got over paid. Let’s see how the rest of free agency plays out and the Draft will be huge. As for now I don’t think anyone should panic, I think these guys know what they’re doing. It’s definitely not Dorsey or Reids first rodeo.

There is crazy talent in this years draft!! We are playing this very smart.

  • Mattia Rizzo

Was hoping to get him in New England… Uff…

I think Jordan should be resigned. I can see where KC banks on Abdullah/Comings, which would be huge if it worked out, or we all scorn the front office for years, not capitalizing on Byrd or Ward
