Von Miller Super Bowl Guarantee: Yep, He Went There

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller has guaranteed that his team will win the the Super Bowl.

The guarantee happened on Twitter. Twitter is where all the good stuff goes down. If you aren’t on it yet, you are missing out.

As FanSided editors Josh Sanchez put to me when I told him of Miller’s guarantee:

When will these guys ever learn?

Indeed

Now as Chiefs fans, we can’t really talk too much trash about the Broncos these days. I’m aware of that. I’m aware that Denver curb-stomped our team twice last year and has won the AFC West two years in a row. I’m also aware that Peyton Manning blew off the Chiefs so he could go play for Denver. I am also aware that the man running the Broncos these days is one “John Elway.”

Miller is a great player and I am really bitter that he is playing for the Donkeys. But going around guaranteeing Super Bowls usually doesn’t turn out to well. People love this kind of bulletin board material and the press loves to remind players of stuff like this throughout the season.

Remember the infamous “Dream Team” comment made by then Eagles QB Vince Young a couple years back?

If you don’t remember, just ask Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. I am sure he will tell you all about it.

Do you think Miller made a mistake making this guarantee?

They can win the Super Bowl in 2013 unless the Ravens wanna share it. But the next time will win it in 2014.

It’s the 2013 season Super Bowl even though it will take place in 2014.

I think he shouldn’t be making guarantees when the rest of the AFC is as strong as it is. Ravens, Patriots, Texans, and broncos all have a chance but it’s a toss up in my mind for who represents the AFC next feb

It’s never a good idea to guarantee a super bowl unless it’s in Madden.

Congrats mr. miller you let your college job slip out into the national audience! that is where you worked for the psychic connection, the 1-800 psychic line where you made solid predictions for those willing to throw their hard earned money away!

I agree in the AFC West the Donkeys do have a good team and put a whoopin on our Chiefs pretty good last year, and came very close to the Super Bowl! But lets not forget our Chiefs Won the West in 2010 and I believe the Donkeys backed into winning the West in 2011 and if it weren’t for a couple of missed field goals the West would have been ours again! So you have the Faiders to thank for that one!

Never forget my young player that it is common place for a team to go from worst to 1st these days, and you need to study the moves the Chiefs are making!!

and as for Manning and Elway it’s Mannings loss not the Chiefs! He may be playing good now, but one good solid (LEGAL) hit can take a QB out very quick these days with the concussion rules! Do you trust your backup? can he keep you in the hunt if Manning goes down for even a few games? And for Mr. Elway ask him about his days playing the Chiefs and if he ever counted them out? Especially with the player you say you admire the most putting him on the ground on a constant basis in number 58 Derrick Thomas!
In closing my friend I’ll leave you with a quote from one of my favorite movies! “Any team has a chance to win on Any Given Sunday”. GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!
