Kansas City Chiefs fans are known for their boisterous and often flamboyant displays of loyalty and affection for their team. I’ve seen everything from custom KC Chiefs kegerators to modified school bussed turned into red and gold tailgating wagons.
Even Arrowhead Addict’s own Big Matt got a Chiefs tattoo after promising to do so if the team made the playoffs in 2010.
But one thing I’ve never seen, is a fan with a Chiefs glass eye.
Meet Pomona, Kansas native Steve Graham. Steve is 58 and was born in Kansas City, Kansas. He lost his right eye in a dart accident back in 1967, at the age of 13. Two years later, Steve and his good eye watched the Chiefs win their first and only Super Bowl. He’s been a die-hard fan ever since.
Steve had the eye made ten years ago when he went in to have some replacement artificial eyes made. His Dr. suggested he have a Chiefs eye mad so he could show his spirit like nobody else when attending games. Steve took him up on it.
Steve assured me he doesn’t go walking around with his Chiefs eye in at all times, as it can freak some folks out. He has two other regular artificial eyes that match his real left eye. Still, when it is game time, there is no questioning Steve’s devotion to the Chiefs. He also has a Derrick Thomas tribute tattoo.
Steve wanted to share his unique situation with Chiefs Nation and where better than on a site called Arrowhead Addict!
Special thanks to Steve for sharing this with us.
