Chiefs Release Chris Chambers, Jackie Bates

Josh Looney has confirmed via Twitterthat the Kansas City Chiefs have released WR Chris Chambers and DB Jackie Bates.

That just goes to show how utterly useless Chris Chambers was last season. After making an impact when he was picked up by the Chiefs off the waiver wire, Chambers did what Chambers has been known to do.

Play well so he could get a contract. Then drop off the face of the earth.

The poor WR starved Chiefs bought it. They signed Chambers to a two year deal and then he stopped playing for them. Benched multiple times throughout the season for poor play, Chambers recorded only 22 catches for 213 yards and one TD. Awful numbers for the man who was supposed to be the team’s number two receiver behind Dwayne Bowe.

So long Chris. Unlike Sweet Ron Edwards and Maurice “Priest Holmes” Leggett, you don’t get a video tribute. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.
